What to do while visiting

Activities in the Greater Toledo area

EAT & DRINK

Local Thyme - Whitehouse

Jeff’s work. We recommend all the smoked meats (duh) but our favorites are the in-house smoked wings with sweet heat sauce and ranch on the side. We also recommend the Smokehouse Mac & Cheese.

Cocina de Carlos - Waterville

Our local Mexican favorite with the best tasting food and the strongest drinks! We recommend the Queso Fundido appetizer, the Queso Chicken Dinner and the Shrimp Street Tacos.

Hangover Easy - Perrysburg

We love breakfast and brunch! In fact, we will be having breakfast for our wedding dinner! We recommend “The Dirty”, “CBH*”, and “Menage a "Trios For The Purist!”. There’s also a delicious bacon salt served on the Bloody Mary’s here that you should for sure try.

Benchmark - Perrysburg

For a classy dinner out enjoy our favorite restaurant. We recommend The Ribeye with Button Mushrooms and Seared Scallops on the side, The Short Ribs Dinner and all of the sides: Mashed Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts, Twice Baked Potato and Raspberry Sorbet dessert.

Nagoya - Perrysburg

Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi deliciousness. We recommend the Hibachi Dinner with Chicken, Steak and Scallops. You also must try the “Queen and I” sushi roll.

SHOP & EXPLORE

Metroparks - Toledo

From downtown Toledo all the way to Whitehouse, there’s a metropark to explore. We recommend Sidecut Park in Maumee for a stunning fall foliage walk near the Maumee River. Fishing is also popular here if you have your fishing license.

We also recommend Oak Openings Preserve nestled between Whitehouse and Swanton. Oak Openings is near our wedding venue and is just gorgeous in the fall.

Franklin Park Mall - Toledo

The trusty, tried and true indoor mall of the Toledo area. Whatever you’re looking for this place will surely have it.

Levis Commons - Perrysburg

A swanky outdoor mall with some great eats and stores. There is a Sephora here if anyone needs emergency makeup!

Fallen Timbers - Maumee

An outdoor mall in south Maumee with some nice restaurants and an AMC movie theater. We like to come to this movie theater as it’s typically not too crowded.

Bass Pro Shops - Rossford

This was Jeff’s add to the website ;)

PLAY

The Toledo Zoo - Toledo

Named the best zoo in the nation multiple times, The Toledo Zoo is a family favorite!

The Hollywood Casino - Toledo

Are you feeling lucky?! Check out The Hollywood Casino in downtown Toledo.

Imagination Station - Toledo

A kid-friendly interactive exploration of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM)!

Toledo Museum of Art - Toledo

If you’re a fan of cultural and historical art the Toledo Museum of Art is worth a visit.
